Since their preliminary meetings, held at America House in New York, the affiliates of the Catholic Book Publisher’s Association had sought to become a professional organization in which supporters would advise and fortify one another in a concerted setting.  Over the succeeding decades, additional corresponding fundamental objectives had arisen as ideals to benefit all members. Virtues like communal support for the shared mission to spread the Word and decipher its meaning for a changing world, and informational & didactic opportunities that meet growing requirements, in both the varying markets and developing technology, were born. These ideals also gave life to the formation of the Association of Catholic Publishers or ACP.

The ACP is an interconnected and cooperative institute composed of Catholic publishers and producers of religious content across various media including books, audio, video, and music irrespective of format. Their mission is to support a sustainable, effervescent, and sundry Catholic publishing milieu on a global level. They seek to deliver discernibility to, promotion for, and the feasibility of published Catholic content. The Association of Catholic Publishers also bestows leadership to those who serve the Catholic market.

The association uses its mutual resources to accomplish the following:

  • To endorse the rich diversity of Catholic publishing so that a swelling number of Catholics employ, appreciate, and are molded by the bounty of Catholic content.
  • To dispense a robust, unified voice for encouragement and partnership with ecclesial pathfinders and the publishing industry as a whole.
  • To impart peer support, industry resourcing, skill development, and professional networking to assist its followers as individuals and as publishing foundations.
